The Cartoonist

Once, not so long ago and not so far away, there was a Great and Powerful Ruler.

He ruled the people of the land with his guns, tanks and scary guards.

But there was someone in the land far more powerful!

The Cartoonist can be read as an allegory for young children about bullying and for older readers as a way to understand the power of political cartooning and censorship.

The Author and Illustrator Joanne Brooker has used a simple narrative, and amusing detailed illustrations to make the subject of political cartooning more approachable and easy to understand for readers seven upwards.
